Starting Mandarin Lesson

Xia wu hao (Good afternoon)! I've known someone who can teach me to speak Mandarin, his name is Hedong but he told me that his English name is Hoda and it pronounce the same way. I'm wondering why do they have to have English name. ...hmmm..

Hoda and me are now hao peng you (good friends) and I'm glad to have friend in another country. He first teach me some phrases and I'm very xingfu (happy) about that.

Last night I've watched a DVD of my favorite Koreanovela Queen Seon Deok and surprisingly it is dubbed in Chinese. I enjoyed that Korenovela and at the same time I got exposed to the Mandarin accent and intonation.

I am starting to learn now and I guess my goal will be realized in no time.

If you think I translated the highlighted Mandarin wrong, you are free to leave comment and correct me. Xie xie :)

French or Mandarin?

Today I've decided to choose one language to learn first. I think it is better this way, I will be able to focus and most likely meet my goal.

I choose Mandarin because I will be using that soon when we go to Hongkong and I believe that it is easy. However, I will start learning the language first and I'll think about if I'm going to study how to write in Mandarin.

As for now, I only learn little about Mandarin, like yes is dui and no is bu, also greetings such as ni hao ma that means how are you.

I started searching tutorial in youtube and I found one. I registered on mixx and livemocha. In livemocha I found a good partner just now.

My goal is to learn some phrases from him, his name is hoda. Let see if I'm going to learn from him.

Do you think Mandarin is a lot easier? If you know something that can help me learning this language please leave a comment.

Many Thanks!

Defining my goal: To learn French and Mandarin

Tonight, I am already tired and about to retired after working in the entire day. But, I am inspired to pursue on learning French as well as Mandarin by reading the e-book of my client that I am helping to promote.

When I was young, I really wanted to travel around the world and different culture really fascinated me and one of them is the language. After 28 years of existence, I can only speak 2 languages which are Tagalog and English just like a common Filipino.

All of us wants to learn another language but according to Benny, the writer of the e-book and my client said that we must start now than saying someday.

So now I am starting by writing a blog and hopefully, I can get feedbacks that can help me in studying French as well as Mandarin and help others too in learning these languages.

Why French and Mandarin? French is basically because there is a job offer for me that requires skills in French language but I can't take since I don't know French, that makes me think that I should learn languages in order to widen my horizon.

Mandarin is simply because I have tried studying it before and I think it is quite easy but i forgot since I am not practicing it but now I promised that I won't forget it. Aside from that my friend and I are planning to have a vacation in Hongkong, so I obliged myself to learn Mandarin.

Tomorrow, I will tell you what steps that I make in order to learn those languages. Do you think I can learn both of them? Do you have any suggestions wherein I can learn it the fastest way? I love to hear your comments.

Goodnight!:)
